Plant a Coral Social Post:

I'm proud to be participating in run4reef supporting the @GreatBarrierReefFoundation to plant a coral and support further research into how we can restore our precious Reef for future generations.

This irreplaceable global icon is home to thousands of species of marine life, including fish, whales, dolphins, and six of the world’s seven species of marine turtle. But the Reef is under increasing pressure from a changing climate and local threats.

By supporting the planting of coral I'm contributing to the world's largest and most ambitious effort to protect, restore and adapt coral reefs at unprecedented scales. This is the most critical decade for coral reef survival with the Foundation aiming to plant 10 million corals on the Great Barrier Reef by 2030.

Drafted social media post - heat tolerant corals:

I'm taking part in the first run4reef event and raising vital funds to support coral planting and research on the Great Barrier Reef.

@GreatBarrierReefFoundation is looking to find the Reef’s most heat-tolerant corals and explore how they could be used to boost the Reef’s natural ability to cope with the impacts of climate change, including rising water temperatures.

Please donate today to my page today to support this innovative work and give our Reef a fighting chance!

✅600+ types of hard and soft corals
🐟1,625 species of fish
🐦215 species of birds
🦈133 varieties of sharks and rays
🐳30 species of whales and dolphins
🐢6 of the world's 7 species of marine turtle

I'm proud to be taking part in #run4reef and raising funds to support the planting of coral to restore the Reef-home of these precious species. Please donate today at link fundraising page.

Drafted social media post - coral bleaching:

Reports of mass coral bleaching on the Great Barrier Reef are devastating to see and serve as a reminder that the impacts of climate change pose a serious threat to coral reefs.

The Reef’s survival is resting on a knife-edge, but this is not a time to lose hope.

I'm taking part in run4reef this year and raising funds to support vital research and the planting of coral on the Reef.

While the world is working to reduce emission we must buy our Reef time. Donate today to contribute to the world-leading effort to protect, adapt and restore our beautiful Reef.

Drafted social media post - why we need coral reefs:

Healthy oceans need healthy coral reefs to survive. Coral reefs:

🌎Provide 50% of the world’s oxygen
🐢Support 30% of all marine life
👨‍👩‍👦‍👦Food and livelihoods to 850 million people worldwide
🌀Protect our coasts from storm damage and erosion
⛵Deliver ecosystem services valued at $1tn a year to local economies
💙Have cultural and spiritual significance for First Nations Peoples dating back over 60,000 years

While climate change is a huge threat to the Reef’s survival, it’s not too late to save it.

I'm proud to be taking part in #run4reef and raising vital funds to support the planting of coral on the Great Barrier Reef to give it every chance of survival. Please donate today at link fundraising page.
