Alana takes on long distance running for the Reef
"At the start of last year I hadn't ever run more than 5kms. But getting your head underwater with a snorkel and mask is like standing on top of a mountain peak. It can make you realise there are parts of this earth bigger than ourselves that are worth holding on to. I find it a little awkward asking people for monetary support, but my mum always had this Swedish idiom: 'många bäckar små gör en stor å' which means many small streams become a big river. So even if each of us does just a tiny dribble, it can build up in a massive way. Why not try, even if it's only once." |

Nicola takes on the Sunshine Coast Marathon for the Reef
“Running a marathon was a personal journey in itself – a challenge that tested my limits and helped me discover new strengths. To be able to connect that personal achievement with fundraising for the Reef made the experience even more meaningful. Supporting this incredible ecosystem while pushing myself physically felt like a perfect way to combine passion, purpose, and action. For anyone considering a challenge or fundraising effort, I would say: embrace it fully. It’s a journey you’ll never forget, and the impact you help create is far greater that the kilometres you run.” Raised $541 |
This is the most critical decade for coral reef survival
"The science is clearly telling us what needs to be done if we are to secure this magnificent underwater world. Doing nothing is unthinkable and falling short is not an option. That's why we need your help."
