The Great Barrier Reef in Australia, my motherland, is one of the most breathtaking places on Earth. Home to more than 9,000 marine species, it is a living world of extraordinary beauty.

Every day on the Reef, something remarkable happens. Fish swarm in shoals. Turtles nest and hatch. Whales migrate. It is a world so vibrant and full of life, it takes your breath away. It’s not just beautiful - it’s unforgettable.

But climate change impacts are accelerating. 90% of the world’s reefs could be lost by 2050. We have already seen once-vibrant coral turn ghostly white. If we do nothing, the damage will only get worse. Now the Reef needs us more than ever.
